Abstract

The article explores the regional particularities of the development of the music education in Bukovyna. The historical preconditions of this process are analyzed: the influence on the educational system of subordination of the Bukovyna region to different states in the second half of the XVIII – the first half of the XX century; educational activities of various musical societies; pedagogical, creative and public activities of famous representatives of the region’s musical culture. The main stages of the formation of higher professional music education in Bukovyna are distinguished. It is described the creation of the first higher musical educational establishment – the Chernivtsi Conservatory in 1924. The particularities of the development of the music education during the Soviet period of the Bukovyna’s history (1940-1991) are considered. The process of creation of the department of music in Chernivtsi University in 1992 is covered. Its main achievements of different directions of activities for 26 years of existence are analyzed.
