Abstract

The article deals with issues of sex and gender identity taking into account the professional self-determination of personality, highlighted in the scientific works of scientists. The stages of forming the idea of gender identity are analysed. The research in the national psychology of the problem of gender and gender stereotypes is indicated as an independent subject. The connection is traced between gender issues and the problem of a person’s life path. The article describes gender and sexual identities through the categories of masculinity and femininity, considering them to be the basic categories of gender identity and psychological gender analysis. There are some differences between boys and girls in the process of professional self-determination, as well as further professional development. The socio-psychological gender of the personality is emphasised as the most important factor in his/her professional development.
