Obtaining a scientific degree in the higher education system of Germany: opportunities and prospects

Abstrakt

The article examines the peculiarities of obtaining a scientific degree in the system of higher education in Germany, caused by the introduction of new structured forms of organization of doctoral studies. Various educational models of preparation for the defense of a thesis research according to which German universities offer the opportunity to obtain a scientific degree to both German citizens and foreigners have been studied in detail. The advantages and disadvantages of these forms and prospects of their development are revealed, the preconditions of enrollment in doctoral studies are analyzed. Based on the research, it is established that structured doctoral studies in Germany provide targeted selection and support of the best candidates of the academic elite, aimed at intensifying and expanding the research areas of doctoral students and therefore has significant advantages over the German traditional form of obtaining a scientific degree.
