Peculiarities of medical students training in the study of the discipline «Traumatology and orthopedics» under distance learning

Abstrakt

The article identifies the possibilities of using certain software and web platforms in the training of medical students in the discipline of traumatology and orthopedics. The problems of teaching the discipline in the conditions of distance learning during quarantine measures caused by the pandemic COVID-19 are determined. The main directions of application of software, on presentation of material, introduction of clarity, systematization of knowledge and the organization of the control of the studied material are given. The necessary requirements that software tools must meet are defined - adaptability, accessibility, relevance and ease of use. Among the main platforms it is proposed to use the following: as an environment for organizing the learning process - Microsoft Teams and EdX, training content base - AO Surgery Reference, VuMedi, Radiopedia, Medbullets, implementation of the principle of clarity and development of practical skills - TouchSurgery. The article presents a study of the quality of students’ knowledge in full-time periods and during distance learning with the involvement of the above tools. It is determined that the quality of students’ education remains consistently high and meets the quality standards of education of students of higher medical educational institutions. Some prospects for further development of distance learning in relation to the teaching of traumatology and orthopedics are outlined.
