Different approaches in teaching English professionally oriented written speech

Abstract

The article focuses on the problems of teaching professionally oriented written communication in English of future specialists. The application of various approaches to the teaching writing is analyzed. A level approach to foreign language teaching is defined as one of the priorities in the learning system. The importance of using a Competency-based learning approach in teaching and integrated training, which combines the knowledge of disciplines, is noted. The expediency of using the genre approach in teaching students is substantiated. The importance of genre competence in the teaching written communication is determined. The directed activity of the student contributes to the formation of foreign language communicative competence for solving practical problems. Particular attention is paid to media literacy of future specialists. It is considered that student’s cognitive activity in the learning process contributes to the accumulation of professional experience and the formation of creativity for solving tasks.
