Abstract

Some problems of introducing digital media in learning processes have been discussed and evaluated from the point of view both students and teachers. Main constituents and actors of the process of teaching and learning have been selected and described. Corresponding challenges and requirements have been introduced. The English for special purposes at technical universities has been chosen as a main subject area. User driven interactive multimedia learning resource in a form of a digital textbook has been selected as a main learning tool. Typical components of the digital textbook, first of all of linguistic character, have been listed. The world best practice has been referred.
