Theoretical basis and analysis of the problem of successful professional establishment of future practical psychologists in higher education institutions

Abstract

The article substantiates actuality and prospects in studying the problem of professional formation of future practical psychologists in the institutions of higher education. It has been showed that professional formation is a significant part of personality’s ontogenesis, which includes the period from beginning of professional intensions formation to ending of professional activities. The data obtained testify that professional formation of personality occurs throughout one’s professional life and is not limited to one or few periods. The views of scholars to the problem of professional formation have been generalized. The stage structure of professional formation of future practical psychologists has been proposed as the result of theoretical study of the problem. The whole process of professional formation involves the passage of 5 stages by future practical psychologists: pre-university training; optation; vocational training; mastering
the professional activities (primary and secondary professionalization); mastery. It has been described that at each of the stages there is a change in the leading mechanisms of determination of the professional activity of practical psychologists, changes the system of new derivations in the structure of personality, his/her values and goals.
