Peculiarities of forming communicative competence of primary school students through folklore in English language lessons

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of forming communicative competence in primary school students during English language lessons through the use of folklore materials. It explores the potential of small forms of children’s folklore (poems, rhymes, songs, riddles) as an effective means of creating an authentic language environment. The role of folklore in developing students’ phonetic, lexical, grammatical, and communicative skills, as well as enriching their cultural experience, is analyzed. Practical recommendations for integrating folklore elements into lesson structures to enhance motivation and learning effectiveness are proposed.
